Privacy Policy

Kreisleriana LLC (“Kreisler”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit this website, and what the Inventio app for iPad keeps on your device.

Kreisler builds educational music software. Our data practices exist to support that mission: we do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it for any purpose outside of operating and improving the service. For details about data collected inside the Kreisler app, please see the privacy policy inside that app. Inventio is covered below.

On this website, we may collect:

• Account sign-in data -- if you sign in, cookies hold your session as described in our Cookie Policy. Your account details (such as email address and display name) are held by our identity service, not by this website.
• Interest registrations -- if you register interest on the front page, we record the email address you give.
• Feedback reports -- if you submit the feedback form, we record the category, your description, and the page it concerns. If you are signed in, the report is associated with your account so we can follow up.
• Search usage data -- the music search page records queries, result clicks, and a random session identifier so we can measure result relevance. These records are not linked to your identity and are deleted after 90 days.
• Operational data -- standard server logs and request metadata (including IP addresses), used for security, rate limiting, and troubleshooting. Pages also report anonymous loading and layout timing with a general route name, without account details, page identifiers, or query text.

Inventio is our iPad edition of Bach's Two-Part Inventions. This section describes version 1.0 of the app.

Inventio collects no data. It has no account and no sign-in, it shows no advertising, it performs no analytics or tracking, and it makes no network requests: the app sends nothing to Kreisler or to any third party.

The app keeps the following in its own storage on your iPad:

• Practice history -- which invention you had open, when, and for how long.
• Reading position -- the page you were on and the notation size you chose.

This information stays on the device and we have no access to it. Deleting the app deletes everything it has stored. If you back up your iPad through Apple, using iCloud or a computer, that backup may include the app's data; such backups are made by Apple under your Apple account and are not available to us.

Inventio does not request access to your location, microphone, camera, contacts, or photos.

• To operate the site, keep you signed in, and secure it against abuse.
• To tell you, at the address you registered, when our editions are available.
• To act on the feedback reports you send us.
• To improve search result relevance using anonymous usage records.

We never use your information for behavioral advertising, cross-site tracking, or any purpose unrelated to operating and improving Kreisler.

We support the rights granted under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and comparable state and national privacy laws. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Receive a portable copy of your personal data.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. The site sets no cookies while you browse anonymously; the only cookies we set are those required for sign-in and form security, so there is no consent banner. Kreisler does not use advertising or marketing cookies on this site.

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Search usage records are deleted after 90 days.
